Current stage and next milestones.

Development stage

Opportunity development and feasibility preparation

Development basis

Productive-use solar, irrigation, crop drying, organic-waste and bioenergy concepts linked to agriculture and industrial activity.

Next evidence and decision

Assess power demand, water and feedstock availability, technology performance, environmental compliance, customer payment capacity, maintenance obligations and project finance.

Partners and capabilities sought

Renewable-energy and irrigation developers, processors and users, environmental specialists, equipment maintenance operators and qualified investors.

No energy plant, irrigation infrastructure, mining right or commercial operating return is presented as secured. Investment terms, funding and regulatory approvals are assessed for each project and must be confirmed through separate arrangements.

THE INVESTMENT FOCUS

Power, water and productive capacity.

WRC’s energy interests connect agricultural and industrial development with the services that make production more reliable. Priorities include productive-use solar, irrigation, drying, bioenergy and circular use of organic materials.

Solar and irrigation

Explore suitable power and water systems for farms, drying operations, processing and storage. Investment should reflect crop suitability, available water, operating needs and demand.

Bioenergy and circular use

Assess opportunities to turn suitable agricultural residues and organic waste into useful energy and products, supported by reliable feedstock and capable operators.

Regional resources

Develop selected energy, mineral-service and regional trade concepts within the wider Uganda–DRC opportunity. Rights, technical evidence and commercial structures must be established for each project.

ECONOMIC CONTRIBUTION

Support the businesses that use the infrastructure.

Reliable productive energy can support processing, reduce avoidable interruptions and enable businesses to make better use of equipment. Local operations also create demand for installation, maintenance, technical skills and supply services.

Our approach links energy investment to identifiable users and their ability to sustain the service. Agricultural and industrial development plans should establish the need before the infrastructure is sized.

THE NEXT STAGE

Develop projects with users, operators and investors.

  • Confirm productive demand and the proposed service model.
  • Assess technology, resource availability, environmental requirements and full operating costs.
  • Agree equipment and infrastructure ownership, voluntary land-use arrangements, responsibilities and suitable financing. Underlying land ownership remains with existing owners.

Programme stage: Opportunity development. Individual projects progress through feasibility, partner agreements and the relevant permissions.
