INVESTMENT READINESS · NOVEMBER 2026
Current stage and next milestones.
Development stage
Destination concepts and partner engagement
Development basis
Western Wilderness Corridor, Lake Victoria hospitality and tourism development concepts linking visitor services with local suppliers and community enterprises.
Next evidence and decision
Validate visitor demand, suitable sites and lawful time-bound land use, conservation and environmental requirements, operator economics, permits and financing before investment decisions.
Partners and capabilities sought
Hospitality and tourism operators, conservation and community stakeholders, destination specialists and project investors.
Images and destination proposals do not indicate completed WRC assets, site rights, government approvals or funded hospitality developments. Investment terms, funding and regulatory approvals are assessed for each project and must be confirmed through separate arrangements.
THE PORTFOLIO
Distinct destinations. Connected opportunity.
Western Wilderness Corridor
A destination-development concept connecting responsible hospitality, visitor experiences, conservation interests and improved regional access.
Lake Victoria opportunities
Hospitality, waterfront, marina and visitor-connection concepts around the Lake Victoria Reserve proposition, subject to site and commercial validation.
Culture and visitor services
Explore cultural experiences, recreation, community enterprises and the suppliers that make a destination work.
THE WIDER ECONOMIC VALUE
Visitor spending can support a local business network.
Tourism investment can create opportunities for accommodation, food supply, guiding, transport, crafts, maintenance and other services. WRC’s approach considers these commercial connections alongside the main destination asset.
Hospitality training and proposed skills partnerships can help build the workforce needed by operators. The proposed One Health programme also provides a route to explore tourism and wildlife-health capabilities.
INVESTMENT DEVELOPMENT
Start with demand, rights and operating capability.
Each concept needs a defined market, capable operator, appropriate land-use arrangements, environmental and technical assessment, approvals and suitable finance. Phased investment should follow the evidence for demand and operations.
WRC’s land policy preserves existing ownership through voluntary, fair and time-bound use arrangements, without displacement.
Programme stage: Investment concepts and partner engagement. Individual assets are subject to feasibility, agreements and approvals.
